A California couple who survived the Las Vegas massacre has tragically passed away in a car crash earlier this month. The crash happened just weeks after the attack on the crowd of concertgoers attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival.

Dennis and Lorraine Carver were able to safely escape the gunfire during the festival while others around them had been shot. Dennis shielded Lorraine with his body before the two made a break for it while there was a break in the gunfire.

On October 16, the Carvers were coming home when their vehicle crashed into a metal gate outside their community in Riverside, California, according to reports. Their car then went up in flames and the couple tragically passed away. They were the only ones in the vehicle.

The couple, who had been married for 22 years, leaves behind two daughters. Their daughters, ages 16 and 20, have shared with Las Vegas Review-Journal how their parent's lives had changed following the shooting.

“After the shooting, they heard from all of the people they cared about most. They were so happy,” their 20-year-old Daughter, Brooke told the newspaper. “The last two weeks of their lives were really just spent living in the moment.”

Sadly, the couple’s youngest daughter, Madison, witness the heartbreaking scene following her parents crash. After hearing a loud noise outside her window, she went outside to find her parents car engulfed in flames.

Following their safe return from Las Vegas, Lorraine shared a Facebook post saying how blessed she was to have a husband who not only shielded her body from the gunfire but also sent her a bouquet of flowers following the horrific event.

Their daughter Brooke recently shared that the roses have now dried and not a single petal has fallen. “It’s almost as if they’re frozen in time,” Brook said. “We’re so lucky we have those flowers to remind us of them.”

Please join us in praying for the family of this couple and especially for their two daughters. In other breaking news, a devastating storm has just left 700,000 people without power.
