Since March 18th, Hoisington, Kansas authorities were searching for a 2-year-old girl named Iviona Lewis. She was reported missing on Sunday and was wearing only a diaper, which made the situation more concerning.

As reported earlier, her disappearance sparked a massive search in hopes of finding the young child quickly. After days of her not being seen, authorities became extremely worried about her whereabouts.

On Wednesday morning, local police confirmed that the child was sadly found deceased in Barton County, Kansas — roughly 300 miles from Hoisington. 25-year-old Chaz Stephens was arrested and booked on a 2nd-degree murder charge.

It is unclear of Stephens’ exact connection with the child, but Fox4KC reported that he was an acquaintance of the family.

An autopsy will be completed in the upcoming days. Once completed, charges will officially be filed against the suspect.

Currently, little details are known. This story is developing and will be updated as more information is released during the investigation.
