The 61st annual Grammy Awards ceremony took place on Sunday, February 10th in Los Angeles, California. 15-time Grammy award winner Alicia Keys hosted the special event, being the first woman to host the Grammys in 14 years.

The awards were filled with a number of memorable moments including exceptional outfits and outstanding musical performances. Singer Joy Villa definitely made her mark after she sported a “barbed wire wall dress” to the event. Villa is famously known for wearing the one-of-a-kind “Make America Great Again” dress at the 2017 Grammys shortly after President Donald Trump took office. In 2018, her dress supported the pro-life movement.

Villa’s 2019 dress was definitely a fan-favorite moment for the conservative Christian fan base. Additionally, Christians were in awe of two famous music artists who publicly praised Jesus after receiving their awards.

Lauren Daigle, who won in the Contemporary Christian Music Album and Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song categories, thanked Jesus while speaking to the audience.

"It gives us the opportunity to spread love to the entire world, and so I just wanna thank Jesus for letting me be a part of this, that he's put a voice in my throat,” Daigle said in her acceptance speech. “For everybody who's a writer, whoever's involved in all this, I think it's just such a gift. This community of music, I love it so so much and I'm so incredibly grateful.”

Tori Kelly also acknowledged God via social media after winning Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Album.

“I still don’t know how I was somehow able to soak the tears back into my eyes as I was walking up to accept each of these. Dreamed about this since I was a kid. Never thought I would get 2 in 1 night. I don’t think I fully even know what happened. I just know that I’m so incredibly grateful & will never forget this feeling. All glory to God,” Kelly wrote in an Instagram post.

It is so powerful to see music artists be unashamed of their faith in a secular scene. What do you think about this? Share your thoughts in our Facebook comments.
