Rep. Steve Scalise Responds to Rosie O'Donnell's Profane Remark

The Washington Examiner reports that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise responded to Rosie O'Donnell on Twitter on Thursday. The response came after O'Donnell called the senator a "**** liar."

O'Donnell was responding to a tweet originally posted by the Louisiana Republican lawmaker claiming that the GOP tax bill, which has been making significant progress this week, is a "win for American families." O'Donnell, who believes she is an expert on the economic impacts of the new GOP tax bill, responded that Scalice was "lying" to the American people.

Scalise responded, "Bless your heart," in response to her profane remark.

Those following Senator Scalise thought that his comment was appropriate. One Twitter user, for instance, remarked that she is "curious" about where the narrative began that the GOP tax bill will hurt the middle class. She claims that she has read the bill and nowhere within it does she get the sense that the bill will hurt anybody.

Another Twitter user applauded Scalise for staying positive and not responding to O'Donnell's profanity with another profane comment.

Furthermore, other Twitter users were upset that O'Donnell thought it was appropriate to use such language. Indirectly, some users on Twitter therefore applauded Scalise for not stooping to the level of using such language.

Representative Steve Scalise was shot and injured in an act of terrorism earlier this year during a Congressional baseball game. He made his way back to the House of Representatives after recovering from the shooting, which targeted congressional Republicans. Prior to his return, he was listed in serious condition and claims that his survival was a miracle.

The shooter, who was killed by police immediately after the incident, was identified as an anti-Trumper who intentionally aimed at Scalise and others because they were Republicans.
