Time magazine jumped feet first into the fire when they crafted their July 2nd magazine cover to make it appear that President Trump doesn’t care about the children of illegal immigrants.
Recently, the story surrounding the original image quickly fell apart as it was revealed that the photo captured something completely different than what the mainstream media was reporting.
After the bombshell dropped, Time quietly slipped in an addendum to their article:
"The original version of this story misstated what happened to the girl in the photo after she taken from the scene. The girl was not carried away screaming by U.S. Border Patrol agents; her mother picked her up and the two were taken away together."
Time also attempted another justification for their unfair portrayal:
"The June 12 photograph of the 2-year-old Honduran girl became the most visible symbol of the ongoing immigration debate in America for a reason: Under the policy enforced by the administration, prior to its reversal this week, those who crossed the border illegally were criminally prosecuted, which in turn resulted in the separation of children and parents. Our cover and our reporting capture the stakes of this moment"
Despite the story being completely debunked and the photo being used out of context, Time is still leaving the photo up “due to the power of the image.”
Americans are getting incredibly fed up with fake news and blatant propaganda they are being fed on a daily basis. As you can imagine, Time magazine is being brutally mocked and skewered for their disregard of the truth.
