A few days ago, Tim Tebow confirmed that he is dating Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. Tebow confirmed the relationship ESPN.
Now the beauty queen, who is from South Africa, is speaking about their relationship. She didn't name Tebow's name, but she revealed the heartwarming reason she fell for him.
Speaking on South Africa’s 947 Breakfast Club on Wednesday, which was recognizing Nelson Mandela Day, revealed how she the man she's dating.
“There’s somebody. Anele, I’m sure you will definitely approve of him,” Nel-Peters, 23, said, according to the New York Post. “He’s very special and just such a big blessing in my life. He’s currently a baseball player and a former NFL player … look at all those titles I just dropped. I’m very proud.”
Earlier in the week, Tebow, 30, confirmed the relationship. He shyly admitted he's dating Nel-Peters, who is only the second woman from South Africa to win Miss Universe.
“She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life,” Tebow said. “I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful.”
A post by Tim's sister Katie was the first hint that the couple was dating. She posted a picture of herself with brothers Robby and Tim along with Demi-Leigh.
Nel-Peters has a sister who has a physical disability. She's very close with her sister, Franje, and he calls her one of her biggest motivators. It was her bond with her sister that led to her meeting Tebow.
“I don’t know if you know, but I have a half-sister who was born with a disability and his foundation [The Tim Tebow Foundation] works very closely with children with disabilities,” she said. “They have an event each year called ‘Night to Shine’ and they host them each year in churches and in different countries and he invited me and my family. We started talking and we kinda haven’t stopped.”
