Millions of Americans consider their dogs to be important parts of their lives. Most people even consider their pets to be official family members!

As dog owners, we are responsible for caring for our animal and making sure they receive the best food and nutrition. Now, the FDA has just reported a recall that is causing many dog owners to check their dog food bags!

"According to the U.S Food & Drug Administration (USDA), Nutrisca is voluntarily recalling one formula of Nutrisca® dry dog food due to it containing elevated levels of vitamin D," reported WEAR-TV.

This is a major issue! It can lead to serious health problems in dogs, including renal dysfunction. If your dog is showing any of the signs such as vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, or weight loss, they may be experiencing symptoms of elevated Vitamin D levels.

"The following bags have been affected and have a Best by Date code of February 25, 2020 through September 13, 2020. The Best by Date code can be found on the back or bottom of each bag," reported WEAR-TV.
