Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have entered couples therapy, reported People Magazine. The couple, who have a five-year-old son, is reportedly in couples counseling because they want to be able to co-parent their son harmoniously. While that doesn't mean they're getting back together, it's a good sign for this relationship.
“They are going through couples counseling now, which is what you do when you want to divorce, and there are children involved,” the source told People. “It won’t likely change the status, but it could help with their future co-parenting.”
The couple shockingly announced their separation on August 6th. The Jurassic World star, 38, and the Mom actress, 40, wed in 2009, and they had a little boy, Jack, three years later.
In their joint statement at the time of their separation, they said that Jack would remain their priority: “Our son has two parents who love him very much, and for his sake, we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward.”
When asked if this was a sign of reconciliation, the source told People, “never say never." But they also added that the factors that contributed to the demise of their marriage—difficult work schedules and Pratt's growing fame—are still present.
“Their work separations have taken a toll, and it is not likely that the marriage can be repaired enough to work right now,” the source adds. “But there is still love between them.”
A second insider agreed that the growing distance between them might be hard to overcome.
“Chris is in demand now and will continue to be traveling all over the world, keeping them apart,” the source adds. “That doesn’t make young marriages fare well.”
While it's only a glimmer of hope, it's still nice to know that they are willing to work together. Pray for their marriage; it would be beautiful for this couple to come back together.
