Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are proving that they're still newlyweds in love. If it's possible, the news that they'll be parents for the first time has made them even more affectionate.
In an incredibly sweet moment, Meghan Markel held an umbrella over her husband's head while he gave a speech in Australia. The couple is in Oceania for a royal tour, which started with the announcement that they're expecting their first child in the spring of 2019.
When Prince Harry needed someone to protect him from the pouring rain, Meghan stepped in to support her husband. Even after the Mayor of Dubbo, where they were speaking, offered his umbrella to Prince Harry, the couple refused.
Harry responded, "It’s all right, I’ve got my wife."
Meghan stood by him as he spoke, gazing at him with a look of pure love on her face. Even as they both got wet from the pouring rain, smiles never left either of their faces.
The region where Prince Harry was speaking has struggled with issues of drought over the last few years. That made the rain a welcome change rather than an inconvenience.
Prince Harry told the crowd, "You are the salt of the earth–honest, hardworking and as tough as they come. And that resilience, sense of humor and commitment to the land are the qualities that make you unique. You are the backbone of this country."
So sweet! Congratulations to them on their happy news. May God bless their growing family!
