The Obama Administration Is Suing The City Of Ferguson. Here’s Why.

The Department of Justice and attorney general Loretta Lynch are taking the city of Ferguson, Missouri to court in the name of racial justice.

Lynch announced the civil rights lawsuit on Wednesday afternoon.  According to Breitbart, Obama’s department of justice is suing the city because the Ferguson city council rejected to implement a deal that was negotiated by federal officials.

The federal deal would have added a tax increase to the citizens as well as require additional training for the police and hiring independent monitors to monitor police activities.  In addition, the deal would have raised police wages.  The expensive deal would have been a massive financial burden to the cash strapped city and was rejected by a majority of the citizens of Ferguson.

“The rejection leaves us no further choice,” Lynch said.  “Ferguson residents have waited decades for justice. They should not be forced to wait any longer.”

The federal government’s overreach into Ferguson began when Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police officer after he robbed a store and attempted to grab an officer’s weapon.  The ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement spawned from the aftermath of the shooting and the misrepresentation of the facts by the media.

The city of Ferguson plans to continue to reform their law enforcement system by creating a civilian oversight program.  However, now that the federal government has decided to get involved, the city will have even less money to run their city with as they face a long and expensive legal battle with the Obama administration.
