Modern progressives have moral and intellectual authority.
Therefore, their supposedly superior ends automatically justify almost every means necessary to attain them.
Among the elite, the Democrats’ “blue-wall” states were once considered a testament to the wisdom of the Electoral College. The Electoral College was rebuked as a relic from our anti-democratic Founding Fathers when that wall collapsed in 2016 to Donald Trump.
The nine-member Supreme Court was once loved. The court made laws on issues such as abortion, school prayer and same-sex marriage. The left cheered and ignored presidents and legislatures.
Republican court picks—Harry Blackmun, William Brennan, Anthony Kennedy, Sandra Day O’Connor, Lewis Powell, John Roberts, David Souter, John Paul Stevens, Potter Stewart, and Earl Warren—would often flip leftward. How could they resist being influenced by the greater brilliance and intelligence of their liberal colleagues?
A half-century ago, apostate Republican justices gave greenlight to legislating from their bench, from affirmative actions to Roe v. Wade.
In response, was there any serious right-wing talk of packing the court with six additional justices to slow down its overreaching left-wing majority—or of a mob massing at the home of a left-wing justice? No.
But what now?
Suddenly, a narrow constructionist majority has returned issues of abortion to the States. Leftist insurrectionists are calling the once-beloved court illegitimate.
Every type of once-unthinkable attack against the courts is now permitted.
Illegally leaked confidential draft opinions are used as a bribe. At the doors of the court, a senior senator threatens to name justices. Protesters are shouting at justices as they surround their homes. A would-be assassin is close to the home of a justice, threatening his life.
You should also consider the Senate filibuster. Barack Obama, former President, bragged about it as racist and a 180-year-old relic.
Obama’s logic was infantile. He was delighted that the filibuster could slow the Republican majority, even though Democrats were in the Senate minority. Obama filibustered the nomination to the Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito while a senator.
While Democrats were in the majority at the time, however, a pouting Obama attacked the filibuster for being a racist Jim Crow roadblock.
Can the January 6 committee issue a universal declaration that defeated candidates cannot question the integrity or call for it to being ignored?
Evidently not. In 2016, a defeated Hillary Clinton claimed the winner, Donald Trump, was illegitimate—this from the architect of the entire Russian-collusion hoax.
Clinton then overcame her inflammatory rhetoric and urged President Joe Biden not accept the 2020 tally of balloting results if he lost.
Former President Jimmy Carter acknowledged that Clinton won the 2016 election, and Trump was therefore illegitimate.
Hollywood actors appeared in commercials, insurrectionary-style, urging Republican electors to renounce their constitutional duties and instead elect Clinton.
The left is intellectually most bankrupt in racial issues.
During the recent confirmation hearings of African American nominee to the Supreme Court, federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, the left alleged that tough questioners were racists and sexists for “bullying” Jackson.
She received the child-glove treatment, in comparison to the character assassinations that were carried out by past conservative nominees. Former Democratic media heartthrob Michael Avenatti targeted Brett Kavanaugh, now a felon, and smeared her as a teen-aged rapper.
Currently, loud mobs of affluent, young white women have been circling the home of African American Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas—just one of five court justices who voted to let the states decide the status of abortion.
Thomas was not the author of the majority opinion that overturned Roe V. Wade. However, leftists have a toxic fixation on blacks who don’t appreciate their condescension.
In the left-wing mind, the buffoonish Capitol riot on Jan. 6 was an “insurrection.”
Yet, the much larger May 31, 2020, riot that sought to storm the White House grounds and sent the president into a bunker was the sort of mob violence that “was not going to stop” in the words of now-Vice President Kamala Harris.
The attack on the Arizona state Senate by a mob of pro-abortion activists, the left insists, was an apparent cry for help.
What would the Left do if the Republican-majority Congress reacted to its 2022 midterms with infantile tantrums of its own?
Imagine a new House speaker, Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., tearing up Biden’s State of the Union address on live television.
What about the House impeaching Biden twice? Even as a private citizen in 2025.
Imagine a 22-month investigation totalling $40 million of the entire Biden corrupt family network quid pro quo.
What if McCarthy fired left-leaning congressional representatives from key select committees
And what if conservatives showed up screaming at the gates of one of Obama’s three mansions?
It’s strange that leftists are destroying the traditions and customs that will come back to haunt the Democrats if they lose the Congress in Nov.
Cry-baby tantrums won’t win over the public. These nonstop, puerile meltdowns have turned off many Americans who are tired of whiny hypocrites.
