Let the fun begin! The Challenge: USA premieres next month — and this time the competitors are winners from other series.
The new reality show brings together former participants from American editions of the show. Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Love Island Survivor for an action-packed competition that promises to be more difficult than anything they’ve faced on their previous shows.
The cast includes Tyson Apostol, who’s competed on four seasons of SurvivorHe won season 27 in 2013. He said that he wanted to keep coming back to Utah until he won his victory.
“I feel like I’m one of the best Survivor players of all-time,” the Marriage Boot Camp alum told Entertainment WeeklyJanuary 2020. “And I don’t think people realize that. I don’t think I get the credit that I deserve for being as wily as I am, being as athletic as I am, and being as personable as I am, which are the three key ingredients to winning this game. And yeah, I’m here to prove something.”
Tyson will be facing fierce competition from fellow athletes SurvivorAlum Sarah LacinaThe winner of season 34 in 2017, was. The 38-year-old Iowan was a popular player in her first Survivor outings. However, she later admitted that some of that reputation was not earned.
“You talk to anybody who’s played with me, and they’ll tell me I’m one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet,” the police officer told ParadeIn May 2020. “My social game is not fake; it’s 100 percent real. That’s why it works so well. But when it’s time to write somebody’s name down, I’ll write your name down. That doesn’t make me fake.”
Participants The Challenge: USAAlthough they may believe they know how the game works because of their reality TV experience, the new season will introduce them to a whole new set rules. Each contestant will be given $1,000 to open their Challenge accounts. They can then increase this amount through battles.
An algorithm will pair contestants in face-offs that can help them win more money for accounts. They’ll have to compete against a different person every week, however, meaning that it will be harder than ever to strategize and make alliances.
The remaining challengers will be competing for a $500,000 grand award and the title Challenge Champion at the conclusion of the season. The cast will be competing for a spot in another episode throughout the season. ChallengeSeason, tentatively titled The Challenge: Global Championship.
