Some absolutely devastating news was reported over the weekend. Shortly after their beautiful wedding ceremony, a newlywed couple was tragically killed.
On Saturday, Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman tied the knot in what friends describe as a fairy tale wedding. The ceremony and reception took place at a family ranch.
Shortly after the wedding, the newlyweds “flew off in the family helicopter.” Tragically, about a mile away from the ranch, the helicopter crashed into the side of the hill. The married couple and the pilot were all killed in the accident.
The groom’s grandfather wrote, “I’m absolutely devastated! Horrible news! We feel like it’s OK to post now… Bailee Ackerman Byler of Orangefield and William Troy Byler III of Belville passed away last night. We celebrated their fairytale wedding and they were surrounded by their family and friends as they flew off in the family helicopter.”
He continued, “Sadly they crashed into the side of a hill about a mile from the family ranch. The pilot, Jerry, was also on board. There were no survivors! Please keep everyone associated with this tragic event in your prayers.”
The National Transportation Safety Board announced on Sunday that they would be looking into a crash in Uvade, near San Antonio, of a 206B helicopter. The sheriff’s office reportedly said that the helicopter was found near Chalk Bluff Park off of Texas 55.
The newlyweds were students at Sam Houston State University.
The school said, “It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the tragic passing of two Bearkats Will Byler (Agriculture Engineering senior) and Bailee Ackerman Byler (Agricultural Communication senior) in a helicopter accident departing their wedding.”
Please keep everyone associated with this tragedy in your prayers. The family and friends that were there for the couple’s wedding must be experiencing extreme grief. Please pray for the pilot’s family as well. Share your prayers here. In other recent news, the FBI just released the full findings on Kavanaugh, Ford.
