
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has settled a lawsuit that he was accused of stealing his song “Gooba.”
Complex obtained court documents that show that Complex has been awarded the following:
“The parties must enter into a written settlement agreement that has been approved and signed by all parties before the settlement in principle can be made,” the settlement states. “The parties expect that the written settlement agreement with waiver of costs and fees will be finalized within the next forty five (45) days.”
A producer sued the rapper’s label and the rapper, claiming the song was a copy of their 2018 song “Regular”. Beat Demons, a Texas producer, claimed that the track is a “mirror” of their song “Regular.”
“GOOBA” was released n April 2020. The song reached number 3 in the US Billboard Hot 100. 6ixine has not spoken about the settlement.
