Six months ago, a shooter walked into a bar 40 miles west of LA and killed 12 people who were swing dancing there. Among the dead was the niece of former Disney star Tamara Mowry-Housley.
To mark the six month anniversary of the tragedy, the "Sister, Sister" actress took to Instagram to remember her niece, who she shared with her husband former Fox News correspondent Adam Housley.
"Missing you every day. I often do a double take at women that remind me of you! The pain of how you were taken from us comes back," wrote Mowry-Housley.
She continued, "I randomly envision hearing your voice and holding Aden and Ariah’s hands like you did. I wish you were here to see my children grow, and for us to see the woman you were to become."
"I’ll have to accept we have a warrior of an angel watching over us now. Love you," she concluded adding the hashtags #AlainasVoice and #MyAngel
A statement issued to USA TODAY on behalf of Mowry-Housley and her husband, former Fox News correspondent Adam Housley, at the time of the shooting, they confirmed their niece was a victim of the mass shooting.
The shooting happened at a country music dance bar in Thousand Oaks, California, where a gunman opened fire.
"Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks," the couple stated via their joint representative Chantal Artur. "Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time."
Please join us in praying for the Housley family as they continue to mourn the loss of Alaina. She was only 18-years-old, and her life was ended too soon. Also, please join us praying for the families of the rest of the victims of this terrible tragedy.
