Traci Braxton, her husband Kevin Surratt, and management announced that Traci had died two weeks ago. She had been fighting esophageal carcinoma for over a year. A final viewing was planned for Traci via Zoom links and in person.
MTO News learned from the Braxton sisters that they were unhappy with how the viewing service was set up. So they boycotted it.
MTO News spoke with someone close to the sisters and was told by them that Kevin, Traci’s husband, was too involved in the funeral. It almost seemed like he was trying ‘come up’ from it.
Here’s what an entirely different person said to Page Six of the Ny Posts:
“Traci did not want a funeral or wake. She didn’t want people looking at her body. She specifically requested to be immediately cremated… There was a Zoom meeting that made it clear about what she wanted, and now her husband is trying to cash in on her name.”
Traci’s wake was held last week. None of her sisters were there, nor was her mother Evelyn Braxton. Traci’s dad Michael Conrad Braxton was there. But according to reports, he was initially turned away at the door “for not being on the list.”

“He was so upset that he wasn’t on the list. Someone from the church recognized him and let him in and he had to sit in the fourth row,” the insider told Page Six
What a mess.
The Braxton sisters have their own send-off for Traci, which will be held next week on Traci’s birthday. MTO News has learned that the sisters’ service may be live-streamed to allow fans to also attend.
Traci will attend her sisters’ “second” wake, but don’t worry. MTO News confirmed that her body had been cremated after she died.
