Recalls are always concerning, especially when it concerns extremely popular food items! This week, one of the most popular pre-packaged salad brands announced an official recall.
Eat Smart brand revealed that their Kale Salad Bags are being recalled over listeria contamination.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the 794-gram bags with best before dates of July 17th are currently being recalled. The bags mostly were sold throughout Canada in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. However, it will most likely affect the States too when more testing is conducted.
Thankfully, no reported illnesses have been confirmed in association with this recall. However, the Food Inspection Agency warned that Listeria could cause vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiffness, and more.
