Susan Sarandon obviously isn't aware of the small rules that surround interacting with the Queen of England. Over the weekend, she made quite the faux pas, reported People.
At the Royal Windsor Cup on June 24, Sarandon walked up to Queen Elizabeth and shook her hand. Royal protocol clearly states that guests should wait to be introduced to the Queen before speaking to her.
Sarandon may have broken the rules, but the Queen didn't look mad. The Queen smiled, and she seemed to enjoy Sarandon's attention.
The monarch, 92, offered a big smile to Sarandon, who likely didn't know about the rule. Prince Philip, on the other hand, didn't seem to recognize Sarandon.
According to the U.K. outlet the Daily Express, the 97-year-old reported that he leaned across his wife to get a better look at the face of their visitor.
Sarandon also didn't follow the dress code. In her low-cut white dress and red sandals, the 71-year-old stood out at the tournament, which takes place on the Windsor grounds.
