In a highly-anticipated case, the Supreme Court made a ruling regarding Colorado baker Jack Phillips who refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. Phillips’ refusal was due to his religious beliefs opposing gay marriage.
According to the New York Post, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Phillips. The ruling was 7-2.
Ultimately, the court decided that Phillips did not violate Colorado’s anti-discrimination law. Instead, the “Colorado Civil Rights Commission showed hostility toward the baker based on his religious beliefs,” reported CNN.
Several top conservative Christian names expressed their support for Jack Phillips including political commentator Matt Walsh and Chair of the Western Conservative Summit Jeff Hunt.
