Struggle With Feeling Anxious? This Will Help

Do you have those anxious fears that rise up throughout the day...and take hold in your heart? They're hard to shake and can really dominate your whole day.

But Jesus offers us one incredibly straight-forward tip to being free of that anxiety: Don't worry about tomorrow.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:34).

So, basically, anything that crosses your mind (in a negative way) that takes place in the future, choose not to think about it. But that's easier said than done, right?


Here's a helpful tool: One thing you can do is picture your mind as a room and that particular worry as a ball of yarn. The more you start to worry about it, the more it becomes loose and entangled in your mind, creating that anxious feeling. So, whenever you start to feel worried, imagine putting that ball of yarn up in a bin on a shelf that's labelled God's.


Because that's where all worries about the future belong: in God's bin. The Bible says, "Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you" (1 Peter 5:7).

Every time you put a care in God's bin, you're telling Him, "I trust You; please help me"--which makes Him so happy! Plus, you're clearing out all those balls of yarn that fill your mind with anxiety!

So why don't you try it today? Every time you start to feel worried about something, put that ball of yarn in God's bin and see what happens! You may be amazed to not only feel so much lighter, but also see the amazing ways He takes care of your worries!
