President Donald Trump has recently been the center of a major scandal involving adult film star Stephanie Clifford, best-known by her stage name “Stormy Daniels.” Clifford claims that she and Trump had an affair in 2006 shortly after he married Melania, which Trump has since denied.
As previously reported, the adult film actress said she received $130,000 in “hush money” from Trump’s lawyer ahead of the 2016 presidential election to stay quiet about the alleged affair. However, Clifford recently offered to return the money back to Trump, so she could go public with details about their affair.
Amid the national controversy, Clifford’s mother — Sheila Gregory — publicly spoke out about President Trump. Gregory is an avid supporter of the President and is still shocked by her daughter’s actions.
Gregory, 64, told Dallas News, "It hurts me deeply. My friends all say the same thing: 'I can't believe that is the same sweet child — you took such good care of her.'”
The mother and daughter have an estranged relationship. According to Dallas News, they haven’t talked to each other in 12 years, despite the fact that Gregory reaches out to Clifford on a regular basis.
Regardless, Gregory assures that she still loves her daughter “dearly.” However, she hopes the scandal involving her daughter and Trump does not impact his presidency.
"If Mr. Trump runs four more times, I would vote for him every time," Gregory said. "I like him. I like the way he handles things. It's time this country is put back where it belongs — taking care of the people here instead of the people who don't belong here."
Like Clifford's mother, many conservatives are concerned about this scandal. Previously, a Christian reporter released a different perspective on the situation, which gave Christians and conservatives hope.
