Paying tribute. Christine McVie’s former bandmate Stevie Nicks honored the late musician with handwritten message shared by way of social media.

“A couple of hours in the past I used to be advised that my greatest good friend in the entire world because the first day of 1975, had handed away,” the “Fringe of Seventeen” singer, 74, started in her word, posted by way of Instagram on Wednesday, November 30. “I didn’t even know she was unwell … till late Saturday evening.”

The American Horror Story alum defined that she needed to go to London to go to her fellow Fleetwood Mac member, however was “advised to attend.” Nicks then shared lyrics from the Haim track “Hallelujah,” explaining that she needed to sing it to McVie if she received to see her. “I at all times knew I would wish these phrases at some point,” the “Wild Coronary heart” songstress added.

“I had a greatest good friend however she has come to go / One I want I may see now,” learn the lyrics Nicks shared in her publish. “You at all times remind me that recollections will final / These arms attain out /You have been there to guard me like a protect / Lengthy hair, working with me via the sphere / In all places, you’ve been with me all alongside.”

The Rock and Roll Corridor of Famer signed off with the message, “See you on the opposite aspect, my love.”

McVie’s household confirmed her passing on Wednesday, telling followers that the keyboardist died “peacefully” earlier that day after a “brief sickness.” In an announcement, they added: “She was within the firm of her household. We kindly ask that you just respect the household’s privateness at this extraordinarily painful time, and we wish everybody to maintain Christine of their hearts and bear in mind the lifetime of an unbelievable human being, and revered musician who was beloved universally. RIP Christine McVie.”

After the announcement, the remaining members of Fleetwood Mac issued a joint assertion paying tribute to their former colleague. “There aren’t any phrases to explain our disappointment on the passing of Christine McVie. She was actually one-of-a-kind, particular and proficient past measure,” the band’s assertion learn. “She was the perfect musician anybody may have of their band and the perfect good friend anybody may have of their life. We have been so fortunate to have a life together with her. Individually and collectively, we cherished Christine deeply and are grateful for the superb recollections we have now. She will probably be so very missed.”

The “Don’t Cease” songwriter joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970 after marrying bassist John McVie. The duo cut up in 1976, however Christine was with the band on and off till her demise. Nicks, for her half, joined the group in 1975 with then-boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham.
