State of Georgia Fires Back at Hollywood Actors Threatening to Boycott Over 'Abortion Bill'

Alyssa Milano is known for her work in front of the camera in Hollywood. However, she has recently decided to become an activist and take on conservative leaders and conservative platforms.

She spearheaded a boycott letter recently that was signed by over 50 Hollywood actors. They threatened to boycott the state of Georgia if the new abortion bill was passed into law.

"The so-called 'heartbeat bill' would prohibit most abortions in the state after a heartbeat is detected, which can come as early as six weeks — before many women know they are pregnant. It would not apply in the case of rape, incest or if the life of the mother is in danger," reported Fox.

Now, the leadership in Georgia is pushing back against the celebrities. They are sending a very clear message to the Hollywood elites and telling them they will not be bullied into a corner.

"I can't govern because I'm worried about what someone in Hollywood thinks about me," Georgia Governor Kemp told the newspaper. "I ran the last two years on these issues, and I got elected with the largest number of votes in the history of the state of Georgia, and I'm doing what I told people I would do."

It will be interesting to see how Milano responds to the pushback. Georgia was the home of 455 productions in 2018 and the finical impact of those projects topped $9.5 billion.
