Standards committee recommends Chris Pincher be suspended for eight weeks after ‘abuse of power’

The requirements committee has printed its report into the conduct of former Conservative MP Chris Pincher.

Mr Pinchers is now going through a suspension from the Home of Commons for eight weeks after the committee concluded the MP had dedicated an “abuse of energy”.

Mr Pincher is accused of assaulting two fellow friends on the unique Carlton Membership in London.

The 53-year-old’s actions ultimately led to the downfall of Boris Johnson, after it emerged the then prime minister was conscious of an investigation into Mr Pincher’s conduct three years earlier than, but nonetheless appointed him to a task involving MPs’ welfare.
