Prince Harry’s soon-to-be wife, American actress Meghan Markle, made headlines again Tuesday after she abruptly deleted all of her social media accounts. As Markle approaches royalty, her social media following base skyrocketed over the past several months.
Fans were stunned on Tuesday after they noticed Markle had suddenly disappeared from her social platforms. The news came shortly after she made her second official Royal appearance with her fiance.
Early Tuesday, the two appeared at Reprezent FM—a community radio station that provides media skills training for young people, according to the Washington Post. Photos of their experience were shared by the Kensington Palace account.
PEOPLE reported that Markle made the decision to go off the radar because she hasn’t used the accounts in months.
One source told PEOPLE, “Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years. However as she has not used them for some time she has taken the decision to close them.”
If you attempt to visit Markle’s old Instagram and Twitter profile, it pops up with a message that states, “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed” and “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!”
However, PEOPLE also pointed out that no member of the Royal family has an active personal social media account. There are multiple official accounts that the Royal family uses to make announcements to the public.
Although Markle’s personal accounts are no longer active, at least fans will still be able to catch her stunning photos on the Kensington Palace accounts!
