Sinead O’Connor, singer best known for her hit song “Nothing Compares 2U”, recently broke down in a viral video where she discussed her struggles with mental illnesses. The video has over 1 million views, more than 3,000 shares, and is still rising.
In the 12-minute video, O’Connor stated that she felt suicidal and very alone. The video will not be posted due to a large amount of profanity.
CNN reported that she has attempted suicide multiple times in the past. Therefore, her video post left fans were very concerned about her well being. Many pointed out that she is reaching out for help.
In response, a follow-up post was written on O’Connor’s Facebook account, stating that the singer is “safe” and “not suicidal,” as many expected. Read the full post below.
"I am posting at Sinead's request, to let everyone who loves her know she is safe, and she is not suicidal. She is surrounded by love and receiving the best of care. She asked for this to be posted knowing you are concerned for her. I won't respond to any questions, so please understand. I hope this comforts those of you were concerned."
