Singer of Number One Hit Song Dead at 75

Gary DeCarlo, singer and songwriter, died at age 75 in hospice care after losing a battle with lung cancer. TMZ reports the cancer eventually spread throughout his entire body. Fortunately, he passed away with his beloved wife by his side.

DeCarlo was famous for his music career with the band, ‘Steam’. The band is most well-known for their number one hit song, ‘Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye’.

This famous song has remained in the spotlight over the years, being a popular ritual at various sporting events. TMZ also points out that the song played in the movie ‘Remember the Titans’ and was sung recently in Congress after the Obamacare repeal bill was passed.
