Should assisted death be legalised?

There are three types of assisted suicide: euthanasia, assisted death and assisted death. They all fall under the UK law. Many argue that those with terminal illness should have the right to choose when they face their imminent end of life, but it’s a topic that causes divided opinions.

As opposed to assisted suicide or euthanasia assisted death would only apply to terminally ill persons. The act has been legalized in several countries and states all over the globe.

Campaign groups such as ‘Dignity in Dying’ wants assisted dying to become legal, and politicians have previously tabled bills in order to do this, but so far, none have succeeded due to the moral and ethical debates that surround the issue.
