Congratulations are in order for Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson. The medalist is pregnant with her rainbow baby, confirmed E! Online.
The 27-year-old Olympic gymnast and her football player husband Andrew East, also 27, revealed on Thursday that they are expecting a child. This comes a year and a half after she suffered a miscarriage.
Johnson posted an adorable photo of the couple. In it, they are smiling and gesturing towards her baby bump.
East posted a video of Johnson her cradling her baby bump and him holding up a pair of baby shoes on her page. They also started an Instagram account for their unborn child, but they didn't share the baby's gender or name.
"Verified @theeastbaby ... we cannot WAIT to welcome you to the world and shower you with love. @andrewdeast WE DID IT!" Johnson wrote.
The two also shared a YouTube video, recorded on February 17. The video shows them talking about her pregnancy.
"Someone asked me the other day, is it hard trying after we had a miscarriage?" Johnson said. "I've never really voiced any hesitation with trying again, but yeah, I'm absolutely terrified."
East added, "I don't wanna say that that experience stole a little bit of joy and excitement. I think it more maybe prepared us."
He turned to his wife and told her, "You're gonna be an awesome mom."
"You're gonna be a dad," Johnson told him. "You're gonna be the best dad in the world."
Congratulations to the couple! May God bless their family.
