Commonly referred to as the "Flying Tomato", Shaun White has just finished his final run at the 2018 Winter Olympics. It is the fourth Olympics White has competed in over his successful career.

Four years ago, in the Sochi Olympics of 2014, White shocked fans by not medaling in his signature snowboarding event. At those games, White crashed during his final run and was unable to score the needed run to stand on the podium.

Some people wondered if White's career was on the decline. After those games, White said it was simply "not his night" and vowed to return.

On Monday night, White delivered. Trailing before his final run, White knew he needed to throw down the run of a lifetime if he was to win the gold for America. To the joy of fans across the nation and the globe, White did just that!

He finished the Olympics with a score of 97.5, putting him in first place. He became the 100th American to win a gold medal in the Olympics.

Shaun was visibly overcome with emotion after the run and his score was announced. He had worked so hard to return to the top of his sport, and his performance on Monday sealed his fate in history as the greatest snowboarder of all time.
