Democratic Senator of Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren recently sparked speculation about whether she would run for the Democratic nominee against President Donald Trump in 2020. However, after Warren became the center of a massive controversy regarding her Native American heritage, a portion of the public suspected she may reconsider her political plan.
On Saturday, February 9th, the Democratic Senator officially launched her 2020 presidential campaign. Warren, an outspoken critic of President Trump, used her campaign launch as another platform to trash the current President of the United States.
“The man in the White House is not the cause of what is broke,” she said. “He is just the latest and most extreme example of what’s gone wrong in America.”
“A product of a rigged system that props up the rich and powerful and kicks dirt on everyone else. So once he’s gone, we can’t pretend that none of this ever happened. It won’t be enough just to undo the terrible acts of this administration. We can’t afford just to tinker around the edges,” Warren added.
“And that is why I stand here today to declare that I am a candidate for President of the United States of America,” the Senator concluded.
