Sad news emerged on Tuesday, April 17 that former First Lady Barbara Bush had passed away after suffering from several illnesses. The 92-year-old was suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure.
After her death, honoring tributes came rushing in from people around the nation. People talked about Barbara’s strong faith, her consistent support of her husband and children, and her role as “The Enforcer.”
After the news was released, all eyes were on George H.W. Bush, who was married to Barbara for 73 years. The couple met when they were only 17 and 18 and have stood by each other’s side since.

Before the funeral, George H.W. Bush released a statement about his wife’s passing.

But the truth is the outpouring of love and friendship being directed at The Enforcer is lifting us all up. We have faith she is in heaven, and we know life will go on- as she would have it.
