First Lady Melania Trump's birthday is April 26, and Madame Tussauds in New York City chose a special way to honor. The day before her 48th birthday, they unveiled a wax figure of her.
Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer did the honors of unveiling the figure. It's part of a new interactive exhibit, which according to People "will allow guests to 'Give Melania a Voice' by tweeting out a message as the first lady, under the museum’s forthcoming Twitter account, 'First Lady of Madame Tussauds.'"
Madame Tussauds in D.C. and New York City both have wax figures of President Donald Trump. However, neither had one of Melania before this unveiling.
Spicer unveiled the figure as a part of the promo for his new book, "The Briefing." He answered questions about his time in the White House and spoke about First Lady Melania.
“Last night the world got to see what a great first lady she is and what impeccable taste she has. It’s another example of her putting on incredible events,” said Spicer.
He continued, "We’re opening this thing as a tribute to the first lady and the first lady’s done such a fantastic job of showcasing our country — last night obviously being another one of those great examples,” Spicer told Fox Business, of course referring to the success of President Trump's first State Dinner, which was overseen and planned carefully by Melania.
“And I thought, what a fine tribute to such a great woman who is doing such phenomenal work on behalf of our country,” he added.
According to NBC News, Spicer thought Madame Tussauds did an excellent job of replicating Melania.
"I’m not kidding, I looked at a photo I had with the first lady before I left and I mean — it's pretty remarkable how lifelike it is, and the same thing with the president. It's impressive,” Spicer said.
He also took the time to comment on a side of Melania that he believes the American people don't completely understand.
"She's a very gracious and fashionable woman," he added. "I don’t think the American people have fully appreciated the level of intellect she has and her political savviness."
Melania certainly showed off her political savviness during the French President's visit to the White House. Even her outfit choices showed that she understood the political climate and knew how to steal the show.
