Award-Winning Singer, Heidi Klum's Ex-Husband, Under Investigation for Sexual Assault Incident

The number of sexual misconduct allegations involving Hollywood men continues to rise as does the exposure of the “Time’s Up” movement—a movement dedicated to fighting against sexual harassment that was created in response to the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the #MeToo movement. The most recent name to join the dozens of men accused of sexual misconduct is award-winning singer Seal.

Seal, a British singer and songwriter who has gained global popularity over the years, is being accused of sexual assault by a former neighbor of his; he was immediately placed under criminal investigation by authorities. Seal is also the ex-husband of a model and “America’s Got Talent” judge Heidi Klum.

According to Fox News, actress Tracey Birdsall claims that Seal “forced” himself on her, groped her, and tried to kiss her at his home one day in 2016. Birdsall was reportedly in his house to get back a salad spinner he had previously borrowed.

The two neighbors were close friends, but according to Birdsall, their relationship never went beyond that—and she didn’t want it to. After the alleged incident, she never spoke to him again.

PEOPLE reported that Seal has denied these allegations. A representative told the magazine, “[Seal] vehemently denies the recent allegations made against him by a former neighbor for alleged misconduct more than a year ago. He intends to vigorously defend himself against these false allegations.”

Birdsall apparently came forward with her story after Seal accused Oprah Winfrey of being directly involved with the Harvey Weinstein problem. His controversial remarks, written on a meme in an Instagram post, came amid the 2020 election rumors.

Seal later posted a video clarifying his Oprah comments, which were meant to shed a light on the “hypocritical and double standard nature and behavior of Hollywood.” He ended his video, “We all know what would happen to any one of those power abusers if they looked like me,” he said, noting his support for the #MeToo movement.

According to TMZ, who initially broke the story, Birdsall decided to share her experience with Seal in response to the video.
