Scaramucci Weighs in on Trump, Bannon Feud

On January 3rd, the White House was involved in a major feud with Steve Bannon, former executive chairman of Breitbart News. In a new book, Bannon made several accusations concerning “treasonous” and “unpatriotic” actions against Trump campaign members including the President’s firstborn son, Donald Trump Jr.

"The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn't have any lawyers," Bannon said. "Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad s---, and I happen to think it's all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately."

Additionally, Bannon accused President Trump of meeting with the Russians in person following the meeting, which Trump has denied. The President released a scathing statement in response—shortly after Bannon’s remarks went public.

“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” Trump stated.

In his statement, he also said Steve “had everything to do with” the loss of the Alabama seat and accused of him of leaking false information to the media when he was at the White House. Despite Bannon’s actions, the President says he will move forward with his supporters and continue to Make America Great Again.

Anthony Scaramucci, former White House communications director, also weighed in on the Trump-Bannon feud in a recent interview. During the interview on “Good Morning America,” Scaramucci came to President Trump and Donald Trump Jr.'s defense.

“The treasonous comment is absolutely ridiculous. If Steve said that, he should get on the air, he should come on your show today, and take it back,” he said noting President Trump and his son’s patriotism.

He continued, “I didn’t go to that meeting, so I don’t know all of the details related to the meeting, but to say somebody is treasonous and doing something against the interest of the United States because they took a meeting is absolutely ridiculous. You’re not going to meet a more honest person than Don. Jr.”
