Serving as the Press Secretary of the United States is not an easy job. The role requires a thick skin, poise, and the ability to clearly relay difficult information in a moment's notice.
Now, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has opened up about what she hopes to be remembered for in her prestigious position. Rather than amazing communication skills, her influence on politics, or even her stage presence, Sarah hopes that she is best known for being honest.
Recently, Sanders opened up to Eliana Johnson about what she was hoping her legacy would be. She said that she hopes people recognize that she shows up each day and does "the very best job that I could to put forward the president's message."
She continued, pointing out two key characteristics she hopes to be remembered for: honesty and transparency.
She said, "To do the best job that I could to answer questions, to be transparent and honest throughout that process. And do everything I could do make America a little better that day than it was the day before."
Following the statement, several people on social media began tearing Sanders apart, claiming that she does not act with transparency and honesty.
Below are a few examples of the vicious posts:
After social media erupted in criticism, Sarah went on doing what she does best- her job. Rather than snapping back at the criticism, Sarah took to Twitter to update Americans on what's going on in the White House. She treated it as just a normal day!
Critics often just want to get a rise out of people, and Sarah wasn't going to give them anything. She simply continued with her day-to-day work, attempting to be transparent.
What do you think about the criticism against Sarah and about the way she has handled it throughout her time in the WH? Let us know. In other recent news, a type of Ibuprofen was just recalled and officials are recommending you throw it out!
