Earlier this month, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders revealed that she would be departing from the White House. First Lady Melania’s press secretary Stephanie Grisham will be taking her place.
On Friday, June 28, outgoing secretary Sanders will walk out of the White House for the last time in her position.
Now, Sanders has taken to social media to talk about her departure. She posted a special picture and said some heartwarming words about the Administration.
Sarah Sanders said, “Today I’ll walk out the gates of the White House for the last time as Press Secretary with my head held high. It’s been the honor and privilege of a lifetime to work with President @realDonaldTrump and his amazing team the last three and a half years. You’re the best…Thank you!”
When she first announced her departure, President Trump took to social media to talk about Sanders as well.
He wrote, “After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas.”
He continued, “She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas- she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!”
