In the wake of the tragic synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, the mainstream media has been blaming President Trump for the violence. They have said that his rhetoric of hate led to the shooting and the mail bomb plot from earlier in the week.

In an impassioned statement, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the media that they have unfairly blamed the president. She told reporters that people should place the responsibility for the two attacks on the individuals responsible rather than the president.

Florida resident Cesar Sayoc is charged with federal crimes in sending over a dozen pipe bombs to prominent Democrats and CNN in the mail. Robert Bowers is charged with killing 11 people in what is believed to be the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history.

In her statement, Sanders pointed out that President Trump is not anti-Semitic. In fact, the president is one of the most pro-Israel and pro-Jewish presidents that the United States has had.

As Sanders pointed out, President Trump has Jewish people in his own family. His daughter Ivanka converted to Judaism before she married her husband, Jared Kushner.

"He adores Jewish-Americans as part of his own family. The President is the grandfather of several Jewish grandchildren. His daughter is a Jewish-American and his son-in-law is the descendant of Holocaust survivors,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders says

She also said that despite the media's reports, the president has done what he can to denounce violence. She made it clear that President Trump is not a racist.

“The President has denounced racism, hatred, and bigotry in all forms on a number of occasions,” she said, noting that the administration will “continue to do that.”

President Trump will visit Pittsburgh on Tuesday to show his support. Please join us in praying for everyone impacted by this terrible shooting.
