When "Duck Dynasty" was on air, the family's Christian faith and high convictions inspired many throughout the country. Now that it's over, however, family members are still inspiring many through the way they live their lives. One of the most popular family members, 21-year-old Sadie Robertson, has been extremely vocal with her faith journey in the last few years.
Many people, especially young girls, look to Sadie as an example of a strong Christian who isn't afraid to dream big and take risks. Additionally, her audience of 3.1 million on Instagram often applauds her for being vulnerable on the social media platform.
This week, Robertson opened up about recent struggles that she has faced. Rather than dwelling in them, however, she put out a reminder to fix her eyes on Jesus. Below is the lengthy post:
She said, “Y’all I’m going to be real…stress has been knocking at my door lately. I have to intentionally remind myself to fix my eyes. When walking out our purpose in life there is a process to go through to get to the promise that God has for us. In the natural, that process can look really hard at times and even seem impossible, but in those moments you must FIX YOUR EYES, maintain your focus on hope, and walk in faith.”
Sadie continued, talking about God’s promises. In them, there is purpose and when you get there it is always “worth the process.” However, it takes training.
She said, “Training is not always easy, but it’s necessary. Take note of the training times, because the very proof that you are walking out the purpose and into a promise of what God has for you is the TRAINING that you’re enduring. When you get tired…when you get stressed…when you feel weak…when you feel alone…FIX YOUR EYES.”
“We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who lead us forward into faith’s perfection," she continued. "His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony on the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God! And have you forgotten his encouraging words spoken to you as his children?”
She then quoted Hebrews 12:2, 5-6: “My child, don’t underestimate. The value of the discipline and training of the Lord God, or get depressed when he has to correct you. For the Lord’s training of your life is the evidence of his faithful love. And when he draws you to himself, it proves you are his delightful child.’”
What do you think about Sadie's words? Do you agree? Let us know! In other recent news, President Trump just responded to the horrible boating accident that left over a dozen dead. Please continue praying for that situation.
