In the recent months, tensions between the United States and Russian have seemingly escalated. Now, another major incident has just occurred and prompted new talks about potential international conflicts.
A Russian jet recently buzzed a U.S. spy plane and came within 50 feet of hitting the plane. The incident occurred over the Black Sea.
"The Russian jet crossed 50 feet in front of the Navy P-8 in full afterburner causing 'violent turbulence,' the official said. The provocation lasted 24 minutes," according to Fox News.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened, although it hasn't occurred for a while. Last June, an armed Russian fighter jet buzzed a U.S. Air Force reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea. In that case, the jet came within 5 feet of the U.S. plane.
The event may be in response to the U.S. fighters who recently intercepted Russian nuclear bombers as they flew off the coast of North Korea. The tension in the area is on the rise and at this rate, it doesn't appear to be diminishing anytime soon.
