Disney fans are in mourning this weekend after some sad news was confirmed out of the franchise. Russi Taylor, the beloved voice of Minnie Mouse and “The Simpsons” characters, has passed away.
Taylor was 75-years-old at the time of her death. Walt Disney Co.’s CEO, Bob Iger, released a statement about the sad news.

According to USA Today, Taylor began her role as Minnie’s voice in 1986. She beat out over 200 candidates to win the coveted role. Because of the role, her voice was heard around the world on television, at theme parks, and in films.
Not only did Taylor’s role bring her voice notoriety around the world, but it also helped her find her love! In 1991, Taylor married Wayne Allwine, the man who voiced Mickey Mouse. The couple had been working together for several years before getting together. Sadly, Allwine passed away in 2009.
Russi Taylor was a beloved performer and artist. In 2018, she was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work as Minnie Mouse.
Beyond voicing the Disney character, the voice actress also was the voice of Martin Prince and the twins, Sherri and Terri, on “The Simpsons.” She was in over 100 episodes.
