A Florida community is in mourning over the deaths of 17 people at their local high school, and they’re desperately searching for a solution to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening to anyone again. As for the mainstream media, pop culture liberals, and Democratic politicians, they only seem to see one solution: further restricting access to firearms in the U.S. for law-abiding citizens.
But conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh told his audience on Friday that the left isn’t specifically going after guns. They have a much bigger target in mind.
“This is about getting rid of Donald Trump,” Rush observed. “This is about getting rid of Republicans. This is about Republicans being characterized, libeled and slandered consistently and regularly so as to harm their electoral chances at the next election and all elections subsequent to the next ones coming up.”
He added that attacking the NRA and the Second Amendment are part of that liberal assault because the NRA supports Republicans and the Second Amendment is cherished by most Republicans.
He told his audience that the message the left is pushing this week is that, “The Republicans want to continue to let your kids get guns. The Republicans are totally supporting anybody who wants to get guns because they’re owned by the NRA.”
Rush mentioned a prayer vigil Thursday night where former Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz encouraged a group of students to start chanting, “No more guns! No more guns!” Rush likened the effectiveness of that chant to Winston Churchill shaking his fist at the sky and shouting, “No more bombs! No more bombs!” as a way to stop the deadly Blitz on London.
“It isn’t about ‘no more guns,’” Rush emphasized. “It’s about establishing emotional bona fide. It’s about establishing a superior moral position. ‘No more bombs’ might make you feel better. And it might make you think that you’re making a difference. But responsible adults have to step up and realize and understand that slogans and sloganeering are of zero value in terms of actually preventing this from happening.”
“There is a solution to this, but the media doesn’t have it,” he pointed out, saying real solutions have to do with changing our culture, which keeps abandoning traditional values, better dealing with mental illness, and increasing security at schools.
“If we’re not going to be honest about why these things are happening, if we’re not going to get serious about dealing with the reality of these events and people like this, then we’re never going to solve this,” Rush concluded.
Do you think Rush is right on this? In others news, another school shooting may have been prevented on Thursday after a classroom spoke to police about remarks one of the students was making.
