Royals Confirm the Wedding Singer for Prince Harry and Meghan's Big Day

On Saturday, May 19, the world will watch as Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle tie the knot. The royal wedding has been the center of attention since they announced their engagement in November.

With only three days to go to the royal wedding, even more details have emerged about the special event. On Wednesday, after many rumors circulated about it, it has been revealed that Elton John will, in fact, perform at the wedding.

Over the last couple of months, the idea that Elton John would be performing was circulating the Internet. It was later confirmed that there would definitely be one of his songs performed at the wedding. Now, sources close to Elton John have confirmed that he is preparing for the big event.

For those that know the royals, the choice of Elton John as the wedding performer is not too surprising. The singer has been incredibly close to the royal family for many years and was particularly close to Princess Diana.

According to TMZ, the two used to work together in order to raise money for various causes including AID research and awareness about it. After her death, the singer provided a lot of support for Prince William and Prince Harry.

Additionally, Elton John’s performance of “Candle in the Wind” at her funeral was one of his most famous performances of all time. Now, Prince Harry is able to honor his mother by asking Elton John to perform at his own wedding.

At this point, it still has not been made clear which part of the wedding Elton John will perform at. He could be doing a song on the piano during the ceremony or just performing at the reception.
