On Monday, April 23, the royal family celebrated as Prince William and Duchess Kate welcomed their third child into the world! The baby was born at 11:01 a.m. local time.
News broke on early Monday morning that Kate Middleton was in labor and was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital in London. She was in the Lindo Wing of the hospital, the same area where she gave birth to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Now, the third royal baby has arrived and the Kensington Palace has released all of the details! It is a boy! At this point, the family has not released his name.
The Kensington Palace issued a statement titled “The Duchess of Cambridge Has Been Delivered Of A Son.”
According to their statement, the baby boy was born at 1101 hrs.
They said, “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs.”
“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.
The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth."
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
The child will become fifth in line to the throne, moving Prince Harry to the sixth spot. In line before the new baby are his two siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, his father, Prince William, and the next in line to the throne, Prince Charles.
