When professional sports players retire, they don't always make the best decisions. Many retired athletes have even gotten into big trouble with the law.

Now, another professional baseball star has been arrested. In a shocking new report, Former MLB pitcher Esteban Loaiza was arrested Friday with more than 20 kilos of heroin or cocaine. Please join us in praying for his family during this time.

Esteban is only 46 years old. He was taken into custody in California and booked into jail by the San Diego Sheriff's Office. At this time, officials have confirmed he is facing multiple charges of felony drug possession.

The possession charge carries a minimum prison term of 15 years, with the intent to sell and transportation charges potentially carrying additional sentences. At this time a court date has not been established for Loaiza, according to reports from SBNation.

Esteban retired from baseball in 2008. He has since remained close to the leaguer and players by participating with the White Sox organization. He even recently attended a team event for fans.

No public statement has been made. Loaiza’s last posts on social media were from Sunday, Feb. 4 — which showed him in his car on a visit to his hometown of Tijuana, Mexico, reported SBNation.
