An Oklahoma restaurant owner is causing pro-transgender liberals to have a meltdown with a sign he put up by his restrooms.
According to KFOR, Bob Warner of the Steak and Catfish Barn in Oklahoma City posted a sign ten months ago that reads: “We do not have a transgender bathroom. So don’t be caught in the wrong on. Thank you, Bob.”
Those upset by it still be up are calling his message a threat of violence.
Paula Schonauer, who self-identifies as a “transgender woman,” said, “I was disturbed. It was really a let down. That sign has an implied threat and a threat that’s very real to me.”
Troy Stevenson of pro-LGBT Freedom Oklahoma says, “You’ve got this sign implying a threat of potential violence against somebody for going to pee. That’s not the Oklahoma standard. That’s not what it means to be American. That’s just wrong.”
But owner Warner says his sign is merely a warning, considering that most of his clientele think people should use the restrooms that match their biological sex.
“We have a lot of redneck guys that come in here. Truck drivers and everything. They’re big husky guys and I said ‘man alive!’ If their wife or their little girl walked in that bathroom and a man followed them in there, I wouldn’t have a restaurant,’” Warner explained. “I don’t want to see nobody hurt.”
Warner also made it clear that transgender customers can use his restrooms, as long as they use the right one and are dressed appropriately.
