On Sunday, December 24, Countess Luann de Lesseps was arrested. Lesseps is one of the stars on the hit reality TV show “Real Housewives of New York City.”
The 52-year-old was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct while in Palm Beach early Sunday morning. Initial reports said that she was arrested only because she was drunk and unkind to a police officer.
Now, new reports have emerged that give the full story. Lesseps was actually arrested on charges much worse than originally suspected.
The TV star was charged with five total crimes. Four of the crimes are considered felonies. The charges are as follows: battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, and two counts of corruption by threat.
According to NY Daily News, she had told the officers, “I’m going to kill you all.” She also slammed a door and kicked at least one of the cops.
Lesseps was released shortly after her arrest but will have to return to court on January 25th to receive her punishment. Reportedly, the judge told her that she has a drinking problem and that she would be wise to remain silent until exiting the building.
According to TMZ, the reality star is called “Countess” because she was previously married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps. The couple got divorced in 2009.
Luckily, no one was seriously injured in Lessep’s drunken outrage. In other recent news, an Amber Alert was just issued for a 2-year-old girl who was stolen while in her car.
