On Tuesday, December 25, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg received some amazing news. She was released from the hospital!
According to a court spokesperson, Justice Ginsburg is recovering at home following her surgery.
Kathy Arberg wrote, "Justice Ginsburg was discharged from the hospital yesterday and is recuperating at home."
The 85-year-old Supreme Court Justice went to Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital in New York City last Friday to have two cancerous nodules removed from her lung. Now, doctors have confirmed that there is no evidence of any remaining disease, according to CNN.
In November, RBG fell and fractured three ribs. After being hospitalized for that, doctors found the two malignant nodules.
Prior to this experience, Justice Ginsburg had two other scary moments in her life facing cancer. In 1999, she underwent surgery for colorectal cancer. In 2009, she was treated for "early stages" of pancreatic cancer.
Thankfully, Justice Ginsburg is expected to make a full recovery from last week's surgery. She is now home and ready to begin work again.
