On May 19th of this year, American actress Meghan Markle will walk down the aisle to marry Prince Harry — officially becoming a member of the Royal family. The most extravagant wedding of 2018 will take place at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The exciting day will be filled with a romantic carriage ride, church service, and more than 1,000 members of the public cheering the couple on. Their wedding will be highly publicized by the media, allowing Royal fans to see highlights of their special day from nearly anywhere across the globe.
Leading up to the big day, Markle has been through several major milestones. Last December, Queen Elizabeth II welcomed the soon-to-be bride to spend her first Christmas with the Royals, Markle has attended several official outings with her fiance’s family, and earlier this year she was baptized into the Church of England.
When Queen Elizabeth welcomed Markle over for Christmas, she broke the traditional protocol of waiting until marriage. The Royal family also opened up that the Queen was very happy for Prince Harry.
On March 14th, the Queen made her approval official. She released a statement offering her blessing for the upcoming wedding, reported E! News.
"My Lords, I declare My Consent to a Contract of Matrimony between My Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle, which Consent I am causing to be signified under the Great Seal and to be entered in the Books of the Privy Council," the Queen stated.
