A terrible news story is coming in out of California. A professional boxer is currently facing the toughest fight of his life after being shot during a drive-by shooting that occurred over the weekend.

According to reports, Izaac Colunga is in critical condition after being shot during a house party in Riverside, California. Police are currently investigating the shooting.

"Featherweight Izaac Colunga, 24, is in critical condition after a drive-by shooter opened fire at a Riverside residence, where he was attending a going away party. The boxer was shot in the back of his neck, CBS LA reported, and his family said a 'bullet is lodged in his vertebrae,'" reported Fox News.

Another person was injured in the shooting but was treated and released for only minor injuries. Officials are unsure of the motive for the event but do not think that Colunga was the intended target.

"Colunga, who is also a bus driver for children with special needs, had his next fight scheduled for March 15 in Dallas. His mother told ABC 7 that her son’s 'vital signs look good. So, we just got to pray and believe that he is going to get feeling back in his arms, in his legs, and be able to be the athlete that he is,'" wrote Fox.

Please join us in praying for Izaac and his entire family. We ask that God's healing grace would touch them all and completely heal the young athlete. He is only 24-years-old. Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to call (951) 353-7105 or (951) 353-7138.
